Answering the DDQ

Operations, controls and technology questions — answered once, reused every raise.

By SRM, Executive Director · Updated October 2026

What do LP due diligence questionnaires ask about operations?

Operational sections ask who keeps the books, how capital calls and payments are controlled, how valuations are governed, what systems are used, how data is secured, how investors are onboarded and screened, and how conflicts and expenses are managed.

Build an answer library

Most questions repeat across LPs. Keep approved answers and evidence in one place and update them each raise.

Evidence beats prose

Audit trails, approval workflows, security policies and penetration test summaries answer operational questions better than descriptions.

Technology questions

Expect questions on hosting, access controls, MFA, backups and vendor risk. Your platform vendor should supply documentation under NDA.
