Master-feeder structure
A structure in which one or more feeder funds — often a US vehicle and an offshore vehicle — invest in a single master fund that holds the portfolio.
In practice
It lets managers serve investors with different tax profiles from one portfolio. Allocations flow from master to feeders to investors.
In FUN/D
FUN/D consolidates master and feeders with eliminations and allocates through each layer.
