Form PF
A confidential SEC filing that registered investment advisers to private funds with at least $150 million in private fund assets use to report information about the funds they advise, for use in monitoring systemic risk.
In practice
Most private equity advisers file annually, within 120 days of fiscal year-end; large hedge fund advisers file quarterly. Large private equity advisers (at least $2 billion in private equity fund assets) complete an additional section. The form draws on fund-level data — assets, borrowings, investor concentration, performance — that should already live in the fund's books.
In FUN/D
FUN/D does not file Form PF for you, but it holds the fund-level figures the form asks for — NAV, commitments, borrowings, investor composition, performance — so the filing is assembled from the ledger rather than rebuilt in a spreadsheet.
